Atty. Krisanto Karlo E. Nicolas

Senior Partner, Philippine Litigation, Corporate and Franchise Attorney

Atty. Krisanto Karlo Nicolas, one of the Founding Partners of the Firm, obtained his Juris Doctor degree in Law from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where he graduated with Honors and was awarded the Silver Medal Second Honors award. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.

Atty. Nicolas specializes in corporate law and commercial litigation and arbitration, franchise law, tax law, labor and employment law and admiralty and maritime law. He is an experienced litigator, having handled countless civil, criminal and administrative cases before various courts and quasi-judicial tribunals in the country. Furthermore, he is an expert on data privacy law and has assisted companies on data privacy compliance.

Before forming the firm, Atty. Nicolas was connected with Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law Offices, where he practiced Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, Corporate Law and Corporate Services, and Intellectual Property Law.

Aside from legal work, he is also a radio broadcaster and hosts the show Ang Buhay at Batas aired at DZRJ 810AM every Tuesday 12:30-1:30 p.m. 

Atty. Norieva D. de Vega 

Managing Partner, Philippine Intellectual Property, Political, Competition, Business and Family Attorney

Atty. Norieva “Nikki” de Vega is the Managing Partner of Nicolas & De Vega Law Offices (NDV Law). She obtained her Juris Doctor degree in Law from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law where she graduated Class Salutatorian . She also received the Silver Medal Second Honors award. Moreover, she was bestowed the Silver Medal for Academic Excellence for her achievements in the field of academics. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. In addition, she has finished the Intellectual Property Law School Program of the Instituto de Estudos Europeus de Macau. Furthermore, she has successfully completed the Intellectual Property Training for Lawyers held in Tokyo, Japan and sponsored by the Japan Patent Office in coordination with the Association on Overseas Technical Scholarship. She also holds a Certificate from the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) for her completion of the WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property held in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Atty. de Vega is currently taking up Masters of Law in Global Competition and Consumer Law at the University of Melbourne.

A duly registered resident representative accredited by the Philippine Intellectual Property Office, Atty. de Vega primarily practices intellectual property law, including licensing and technology transfer agreements and the prosecution and maintenance of trademarks, copyrights, patents, utility models, industrial designs. She also specializes in all areas of local and international taxation, election law, competition and antitrust law and entertainment law. She has extensive experience in litigation, particularly in the fields of tax law, family law, intellectual property litigation and enforcement actions.

Atty. De Vega is a law professor at the Far Eastern University Institute of Law where she teaches Political Law Review to graduating law students. She is also a thesis/dissertation defense panelist. Pertinently, she is duly accredited as a Trainer by the Licensing Executives Society International.

In addition to teaching, Atty. De Vega is a media practitioner and a member of the Kapisanan nang mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas. At present, she is the host of the radio show entitled "Ang Buhay at Batas" aired at DZRJ 810AM together with Atty. Karlo Nicolas. Likewise, she was the host of the radio show "Mind Your Own Business" from 2011 to 2015 aired also at DZRJ 810 AM. In addition, she was a radio announcer at DWLA-FM 105.9 from 1997 to 1998. Atty. De Vega is also a regular columnist at FranchisingPH, one of the leading resources in franchising in the Philippines. Moreover, she also writes for OFWHotjobs, a magazine devoted to Filipino overseas workers. Pertinently, Atty. De Vega has appeared in numerous television shows and radio programs as a legal expert in various fields of law such as business, labor, election, family and the like.

Atty. de Vega is also active in the community. At present, she is the President of the prestigious Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Mandaluyong . She is likewise the Chairman of the Advocacy Committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry – NCR (PCCI-NCR), an organization of all chambers of commerce in the National Capital Region. Moreover, she is the Vice- Chairman of the Mandaluyong Micro Small Medium Enterprise Development Council (MSMED Council). Further, she is the Director and Chairman of the Welfare Service Committee of the Philippine Red Cross Rizal Chapter- Mandaluyong Branch.

Currently, she serves as a Director of the Valle Verde VI Homeowners’ Association and Chairman of its Grievance Committee. In addition, she is a Director of the Philippine National Police Mandaluyong Station Advisory Council on Police Transformation and Development. She is also a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Federacion Internacional De Abogadas, Licensing Executives Society (LES Philippines), Association on Overseas Technical Scholarship Alumni Association, The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific (LAWASIA)International, LAWASIA Philippines, Legal Management Council of the Philippines, International Association for Contract and Commercial Management and Sigma Delta Phi.

A humanitarian leader, Atty. De Vega has implemented numerous service and charitable projects in the community of Mandaluyong pertaining to nutrition, maternal health, legal aid, education, etc. as a past President of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Uptown (RY 2013-2014), District Chairman for Public Image of Rotary District 3800 (RY 2015 – 2016) and District Chairman for Rules and Procedure (2018-2019). 

Atty. Joeben T. De Jesus

Atty. De Jesus has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sto. Tomas, the oldest existing university in Asia. Furthermore, he holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the same university where he was bestowed with the Best Thesis Award.

A passionate and dedicated advocate, Atty. De Jesus is adept at drafting pleadings filed in courts and administrative agencies. He specializes in criminal and civil litigation and actively appears before the Office of the City Prosecutor where he has assisted victims of crimes and felonies achieve justice.

De Jesus also specializes in contract, corporate and business law and is very skilled in assisting companies and businesses in the Philippines.His dedication and passion for the client’s cause coupled with his extensive knowledge of business law comprise a winning formula for the best legal representation. Atty. Unica Amor R. Mananquil 

Junior Associate, Philippine Criminal & Civil Litigation Lawyer 

Atty. Mananquil obtained both her Bachelor of Arts degree Major in Legal Management and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas where she won accolades on various debate competitions and served as a leader in numerous organizations. She is also a prolific writer such that her literary works have been published on various fora including the Philippine Daily Inquirer. In addition, she was the topnotcher in the 2009 Professional Civil Service Exam.

Before joining the Firm, she worked as a direct assistant to a regional trial court judge in Manila and a legal researcher for an Assistant Prosecutor in Quezon City. Moreover, she served as a paralegal at the Optical Media Board, a government agency charged with the regulation of the manufacture, use, sale, distribution, exportation and importation of optical media in the country. Pertinently, she interned at the Public Attorney’s Office during law school.

Atty. Mananquil brings to the Firm's Civil and Criminal Litigation department her legal acumen and exemplary legal writing skills. Atty. Divina Gracia A. Hernandez 

Junior Associate, Philippine Civil and Corporate Attorney

Atty. Hernandez obtained her J.D. degree (Doctor of Jurisprudence) from the University of Batangas. During her formative years in the college of law, she was a regular member of societies for scholastic development such as the moot court and the law journal. In addition, she was served the Student Council as its Public Information Officer. Prior to this, she graduated from the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Legal Management.

Right after passing the Philippine Bar Exams, Atty. Hernandez took her legal skills, talents and expertise in the Bureau of Customs and later, in the Law Division of a well-known hospital in the country.

Atty. Hernandez brings to the Firm her extensive legal experience both in the public and private sectors, together with her passion in making the law work for the good and for the betterment of society. Indeed, Atty. Hernandez’ strong adherence to the tenets of diligence and hard work makes her an asset to the Firm’s Litigation Department. With a solid foundation in law, Atty. Hernandez ably assists the Firm’s clients in their legal concerns. 

Edward D. Ignacio 

Philippine Legal Assistant for Civil, Criminal and Immigration Law 

Mr. Ignacio holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, which he obtained from the San Sebastian Recoletos Institute of Law. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the same college.

With his background in Law, Mr. Ignacio has extensive experience in assisting the lawyers in the preparation of pleadings, collation of evidence, filing of pleadings and other work related to the field of litigation. As a Legal Assistant, Mr. Ignacio is also skilled in drafting pleadings. In addition, he is adept in assisting clients in the field of immigration.

A man who does not believe in the impossible, Mr. Ignacio has a decade of experience in helping the Firm’s clients achieve their goals.
